Vaco is partnering with a growing client seeking a Project Accountant to join their expanding accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-driven, deadline-focused environment and wants to play a meaningful role in improving project financial processes.

You'll work with in a well-structured accounting department that includes a Director, Senior Accountants, a T&E Staff Accountant, Office Manager/Payroll, and other project-focused finance professionals. With the company in a growth phase, this role offers strong visibility and the chance to help streamline scalable project accounting practices.

• Support month-end close activities related to project financials, including reviewing project costs, recording accruals, calculating project labor costs, and performing reconciliations.
• Maintain project-level accounting records, including billing, job costing, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Assist with project billing for various contract types, such as Percentage of Completion (POC) and Time & Materials (T&M).
• Reconcile payroll costs to project time postings to ensure accurate labor allocations.
• Collaborate across departments to support project accounting processes and ensure timely, accurate financial information.
• Utilize Suite Projects or similar project management/professional services automation tools in daily project accounting activities.
• Leverage Net Suite for project accounting workflows and related transactions.
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects or additional duties as assigned.

• 3-5 years of project accounting or finance experience supporting complex, multi-year programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Hands-on project accounting experience.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams.

• Experience with Net Suite.
• Suite Projects or similar PSA/project management tool experience.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, or Oracle P6.
