Join a dynamic and innovative real estate investment and development firm as a Senior Property Accountant. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the financial stewardship of a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting practices. Responsibilities- Oversee the generation of monthly rent invoices, manage collections, and track tenant sales to ensure accurate percentage rent calculations.
- Maintain comprehensive rent rolls and tenant ledgers, ensuring proper recording and collection of rent and CAM charges.
- Handle accounting tasks related to tenant move-ins and move-outs, providing support to property managers and addressing tenant inquiries.
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of properties, including AP invoice entry, coding, and coordination for approvals.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers, ensuring accurate deposit records and financial statement preparation, including variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and year-end financial reporting, while tracking CAPEX and project-related expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, while supporting ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate.
- Proficiency in property management software (e.g., App Folio or Yardi) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with budgeting and CAM reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting policies and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
