Location:

San Francisco, CA | Salary: $175,000–$200,000.

CV Resources is partnering with a local CPA firm in search for a Tax Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S- and C-corporations, trusts, and estates in accordance with professional standards.
• Lead and perform proactive tax planning engagements, advising clients on entity structuring, multistate considerations, and tax minimization strategies.
• Research, analyze, and resolve complex tax issues, providing technical guidance and clear recommendations to clients and staff.
• Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, reviewing work papers and returns to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to firm quality standards.
• Oversee and review related compliance filings, including sales and use tax, Forms 1099, payroll‑related filings, and other regulatory requirements.
• Serve as primary liaison with tax authorities, managing responses to IRS, state, and local agency notices, audits, and examinations.
• Coordinate with accounting, audit, and advisory teams to ensure consistency between tax reporting, financial statements, and client deliverables.
• Support firm leadership with workflow management, deadline tracking, and continuous improvement of tax processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• 7+ years of public accounting experience
