Are you an analytical professional with a passion for accountability, compliance, and public service? The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a motivated Associate Management Auditor (AMA) and will consider candidates at the Staff Services Management Auditor (SSMA) level to join the Audits Office, External Oversight Section.

Under the direction of a Senior Management Auditor and the supervision of a Staff Management Auditor, the incumbent works in a collaborative, team-based environment to plan, schedule, and conduct a wide variety of audits across the department and its partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting audits of DMV external Commercial and Government Requesters, First Line and Second Line Business Partners
  • Performing program audits related to:
    Information Technology, Interstate Carriers, International Registration Plan (IRP), DMV Headquarters and Field Offices, Consolidated Registration Centers, Industry Service Centers, Travel Crew Payment Centers, Auto Clubs
  • Performing all phases of the audit process, including planning, fieldwork, analysis, reporting, and follow-up
  • Developing audit findings and recommendations to ensure compliance with California Vehicle Code, Government Code, International Registration Plan, applicable agreements, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ensuring audits adhere to DMV Audits Branch Manual, International Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards, Government Auditing Standards
