About The Role

Our client, a well-established financial services firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Orange County team. This hybrid role focuses on general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation, while also supporting process improvements, reporting accuracy, and mentorship of junior staff. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries and monthly close across multiple entities
• Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and analyze variances to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Prepare internal and external financial statements by compiling data from the general ledger and financial systems
• Develop detailed spreadsheet reports and dashboards to support strategic business decisions
• Apply senior-level accounting expertise to review and update financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and best practices
• Research and interpret financial data to respond to complex accounting inquiries and provide actionable insights
• Mentor junior accountants, offering guidance and reviewing work to ensure accuracy and growth
• Collaborate on process improvement initiatives and support special projects as assigned

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong exposure to the general ledger and financial reporting
• Financial services industry background preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus
