Our client, a trusted leader in the manufacturing of stack racks, shipping racks, warehouse racks, and custom storage solutions for over 65 years, is seeking an Accounting & Admin Manager to join the team in Ballwin, MO.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a hands-on Accounting & Admin Manager to lead our day-to-day accounting and finance operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and thrives in a manufacturing environment where accuracy and clarity matter.
You are someone who:
- Brings strong accounting knowledge and can “own the books” end-to-end.
- Can partner with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure numbers are accurate, timely, and useful.
- Has the integrity and judgment to manage cash, tax, and compliance responsibilities with care.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting & Reporting
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support annual audits and maintain strong internal controls.
Treasury & Compliance
- Monitor daily cash flow and manage banking relationships.
- Oversee sales tax reporting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Maintain proper records to support tax filings and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist the President in developing and managing the annual budget.
- Prepare variance analyses and provide financial insights that support operational decisions.
- Create practical forecasts to guide short- and mid-term planning.
Manufacturing & Inventory Support
- Partner with operations to track and value raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Monitor standard costs, production variances, and inventory accuracy.
- Provide reporting that links financial data to shop floor and supply chain performance.
- Work closely with the administrative and HR teams to align financial processes.
- Interact with buyers and sales staff to ensure proper classification and reporting of costs and revenues.
- Work closely with ownership with reporting and planning.
- Potentially supervise accounting staff members, depending on future needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA a plus).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, cash management, and sales tax compliance.
- Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and cost accounting.
- Strong Excel/ERP skills; able to improve processes and reporting efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
