Accounts Receivable Manager

Location: Earth City

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to provide steady leadership for a manufacturing operation in Earth City, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is fully onsite and is ideal for someone who can strengthen collections performance, improve receivables processes, and guide a team through a changing operating environment.

The right candidate will combine strong people leadership with hands-on execution, bringing structure, accountability, and practical problem-solving to daily AR activities.

Responsibilities:

- Direct day-to-day accounts receivable, billing, cash activity, cash application, and commercial collections operations to support timely payment and accurate account management.

- Supervise, coach, and develop AR staff while setting clear performance expectations and reinforcing consistent execution across the team.

- Review aging trends, collection results, and cash flow indicators to identify priorities, reduce outstanding balances, and improve overall receivables performance.

- Evaluate current workflows across people, process, and systems, then implement practical improvements that increase efficiency and strengthen controls.

- Partner with internal leadership to establish operational discipline, resolve process gaps, and build a more accountable AR function.

- Support continued adoption and effective use of Sage X3 by helping the team align daily activities with system capabilities and improved procedures.

- Work closely with cross-functional partners to address billing issues, payment discrepancies, and customer account concerns in a timely manner.

- Lead by example with a hands-on approach, stepping into detailed AR tasks when needed to maintain continuity and team momentum. Requirements - 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, including leadership responsibility for collections and related cash application or billing functions.

- Demonstrated success managing or supervising AR teams in an environment that requires both process discipline and relationship management.

- Strong background in commercial collections, aging analysis, and performance improvement within receivables operations.

- Ability to identify operational gaps and implement more effective workflows across people, processes, and technology.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust and influence experienced team members.

- Comfortable working through ambiguity, operational challenges, and evolving business needs while maintaining focus on results.

- Experience with ERP-supported AR processes;
Sage X3 experience is strongly preferred, and Sage 100 exposure is a plus.

- Background in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site operations is preferred.
