Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant to join our team.

• Own the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and recurring entries.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and audit-ready documentation.
• Manage and complete requests for supporting financial information related to audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
• Review balance sheet accounts, receivables, accruals, and other key financial areas to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial results.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, allocations, roll forwards, and account analyses.
• Serve as a finance business partner for assigned operational departments, providing accounting guidance and financial support.
• Coordinate with department leaders to address financial inquiries and support decision-making processes.
• Assist with external audit activities, including preparation of schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
• Support federal and state tax compliance processes through preparation and review of supporting documentation.
• Maintain and enhance accounting reports, templates, and ERP-based financial reporting tools.
• Coordinate inventory-related accounting activities and support operational reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes, improve controls, and increase efficiency across financial operations.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and work review support for junior accounting staff.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience preparing journal entries, account analyses, accruals, and variance explanations.
• Experience working with ERP or general ledger systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting functions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous process improvement.

• Experience supporting external audits and tax compliance activities.
• Experience mentoring, reviewing, or providing guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Background in retail, distribution, inventory-intensive, or multi-location business environments.
• Experience with large-scale ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Proven track record of identifying and implementing accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
