Position:
Tax Administrator
Location:
St. Louis, United States
- Work closely with the tax group to oversee administrative functions, including weekly check-ins with the Tax Admin and St. Louis based tax team.
- Coordinate tax work papers and tax return assembly & delivery (certified mailings, Fed Ex, USPS, encrypted links/email & Docu Sign); collaborate with teams in other TCG tax offices.
- Maintain overall document organization including scanning and storage (physical and in a document management system).
- Communicate and coordinate receipt and delivery of tax organizers, data, returns, tax payments and bills with clients, tax team and advisors. Clear verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Submit electronic filings and track acceptances through government software and tax tracking software (CCH Workflow).
- Manage and track notices, including state and local tax notices.
- Set up new returns, print/export returns in tax software (CCH Axcess), and manage tasks in tax tracking software (CCH Workflow) including staffing assignments, deliverables, extensions, etc.
- Prepare reports and summaries, monitor and review task status and workloads, and communicate progress with Manager, Tax Administration and Sr. Director of Tax Operations.
- Identify trends and, with leadership, reassess staffing, processes and priorities to maintain efficiency, especially during busy season.
- Support merger integrations, training and development initiatives, new technology implementation, tax season prep and execution, and other projects throughout the year.
- Provide ad hoc support to Tax Advisory & Tax Admin teams nationwide as needed.
- Provide occasional backup administrative support in the St. Louis office, including mail distribution, answering phone calls, scanning documents and greeting visitors.
- In-person work January–April and September–October, with option to grow into a hybrid (2–3 days in office per week) May–August and November–December.
- Prior experience in a Tax Admin/Tax Ops type role.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with various people on short-term and long-term projects.
- Degree preferred.
Employment Type
This position is a Non-Exempt role. The annualized base pay range is between $60,000 - $70,000 per year. Actual base pay may vary based on experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and skillset. The base pay is one component of total compensation, which may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
