Overview
Under close supervision, supports UCR School of Medicine admissions and recruitment by providing front-line advising to prospective applicants, preparing and evaluating admissions files for completeness and basic eligibility, and advancing applications through defined workflow. Assists with planning, coordination, and execution of recruitment activities, applicant interviews, and school events; prepares admissions materials and routine communications across phone, email, in-person, and virtual channels.
Provides co-advising and file review support for the Early Assurance Program and helps assemble program materials and logistics. Generates basic reports on applicant data and status, interprets straightforward trends for staff and leadership, and maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with FERPA/HIPAA. Works collaboratively with staff, faculty, and external partners to meet timelines and service standards; escalates complex cases and does not make independent admissions decisions.
Occasional evenings/weekends and limited travel may be required for recruitment and student affairs events.
$53,100.00/yr - $89,700.00/yr
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- 0 - 1 years of related experience; experience in effectively advising and counseling students.
- Preferred:
Experience working within a LCME accredited School of Medicine. - Basic knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting, performing repetitive administrative tasks, including sorting, filing, and organizing documents and reports.
- Knowledge of academic programs, admissions requirements, and related software systems (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with student information systems (e.g., AMCAS, AMP, Banner) is preferred.
