Summary

Summary – The Pension Generalist is a full-time position in which an extremely organized individual is responsible for logging incoming information from all parties and distributing requests to the Pension Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive all incoming pension applications
  • Review each application
  • Log receipt of application in the system
  • Create account for application in system, (Legacy or Benefit Driven)
  • Research incomplete applications by contacting the applicant to request missing documents
  • Receive all incoming mail & faxes and distribute to the correct coordinators
  • Receive email requests and forward on to the correct coordinators
  • Retrieve and replace files from storage as needed
  • Ability to multi-task well and remain organized
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
Required Skills

Superior communication skills and keen observation are essential. Must pay careful attention to document details. Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Excellent customer service skills are a must.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to comprehend written materials such as plan documents and legal correspondence. Communicate professionally, tactfully and clearly with participants, fellow employees and other professionals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra. Must be able to understand and apply knowledge of decimals, fractions, and percentages.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. Ability to assess and analyze production results for accuracy and efficiency.

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential, exposure to SharePoint is a plus.

Physical Demands

Occasional lifting of paperwork, files, and printer paper.

Work Environment

High-volume, fast-paced and noisy.

Work Schedule

Full time. Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. Required in office (no at-home days).

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $18.00 - $20.00. Actual rate dependent on location, skills, education, experience and other business factors.
