Position and Classification

Automotive Program Representative – Classification number: JC-485605

Duties
  • Perform undercover vehicle documentation within a Forensic Documentation Laboratory, including inspection of automotive components and reporting their condition.
  • Determine that components and vehicle systems are functioning within manufacturer specifications.
  • Research technical specifications and testing procedures contained in various manufacturers’ technical resources.
  • Drive a transporter and deliver the undercover vehicle during the investigation, including loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Perform post‑investigation inspection, document results, and prepare a report.
  • Provide expert court testimony as an expert witness for Bureau Investigations.
  • Maintain the undercover vehicle fleet.
Qualifications
  • Minimum qualifications detailed in the Class Specification. Candidates must meet these requirements.
  • Desirable qualifications include:
    • Knowledge of equipment and methods used in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment.
    • Ability to operate tools used in automotive repair, inspect automotive equipment, purchase parts and materials, keep accurate records, reconcile and report.
    • Cooperative teamwork, efficient work, punctuality, professionalism, courteous behavior.
    • Ability to analyze information, make competent and timely decisions.
    • Independent work with minimal supervision.
    • Computer proficiency for daily tasks.
    • Positive attitude, highly motivated.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
