Business Development Manager, Nutraceuticals

IMCD US is hiring a Business Development Manager to support the Nutraceutical business. This role will support the west territory with a home office location in California. The role requires 40-50% travel.

The Business Development Manager – Nutraceutical Ingredients is a dynamic and challenging business development role. You will play an important part in IMCD’s objective to grow earnings for new opportunities with brands and to drive overall business growth within the Nutraceutical Markets across the United States. As such, you are passionate about developing new products and ardently following up to achieve overall business goals and strategies.

An excellent solutions thinker, you are able to build and maintain key relationships with our customers. Your key strengths are identifying high growth opportunities in the following areas: new formulations, problem solving and focusing on brand owners. Passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated by success, a key focus of this role is to exceed our active nutraceutical ingredient principal’s expectations.

A successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Knowledge of the selling product from manufacturing stage to the delivery and customer satisfaction stage
  • Develop relationships with brand owners to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business across market channels
  • Assist in establishing relationships and creating an environment to develop new sales
  • Identifies new market development opportunities as well as target builds; seeks out competitive information
  • Drive new product sales; act as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions and evaluations
  • Align with leadership to prioritize projects and focus on key opportunities for significant growth opportunities
  • Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel
  • Conduct frequent account planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis
  • Research and understand your target market and key economic conditions / issues at major accounts
  • Collaborate with technical centers regularly to formulate, monitor and improve success rates of key opportunities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business
  • Attend quarterly planning calls with the sales leadership team and representatives
  • Report facility-level information impacting account targets to sales leadership (e.g. new opportunities, changes in procedure mix, etc.)
  • Consistent use of  for maintaining up-to-date "living documents"
  • Be a champion for active nutraceutical ingredient principal suppliers and assist with managing supplier expectations

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, technical degree preferred
  • Five plus years of progressive people and business experience
  • Five to seven plus years in Nutraceuticals sales experience with knowledge of key principals, customers, and specialty products used within the industry
