Base pay range$30.00/hr - $60.00/hr
Job SummaryThe Construction Site Rep is primarily responsible for overseeing contractors performing maintenance and new construction in critical high-voltage infrastructure environments to ensure that construction contractors perform work safely and in compliance with contract requirements and all applicable processes, procedures, quality, environmental, and safety standards.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the single point of contact between the onsite construction contractor and the client’s PM, including communicating project-related issues to client stakeholders
- If a Limited Site Rep, work under the direction of a Site Rep 1, 2, or 3 to assist with all daily duties for the project
- Facilitate daily tailboards
- Maintain and enforce safe work practices
- Mandate substation job site work rule policies
- Manage safety and environmental issues onsite
- Provide access to work locations for vendors and contractors (open/close gates)
- Ensure that all facilities are secure and locked at the end of each work assignment
- Facilitate construction plan and sequence
- Manage contract, cost, and schedule for project
- Prepare field change orders for approval and processing
- Manage material onsite
- Perform quality and inspection, logged Book 1 inspections
- Oversee and verify receipt of as-built drawings from contractor
- Prepare OD 393 forms
- Prepare contractor dailies
- Prepare weekly project reports
- Initiate process for construction issue reports
- Prepare project closure documents
- Good understanding and interpretation of substation prints, power flow, and nomenclature
- Understanding of safe work distances and clearance procedures while working in energized substations
- Contract management skills and experience
- Strong skillsets in Microsoft Office products
- Technical background preferred in a related field (civil, electrical, wiring, grading construction)
- Regulated utility industry experience preferred
- Travel up to 100% (per diem and lodging as applicable and based on assignment)
- Electric substation construction experience and/or substation construction management experience is a plus
This position is 100% on-site at our client’s project sites, with work schedule to be determined by supervisor. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move about the inside and outside of electrical substations as well as drive between project sites.
The person in this position must be able to follow stringent safety protocols and to communicate effectively to exchange accurate information in these situations. Regularly operates a computer and/or tablet device.
