We are assisting our client in expanding their mining operations team and seeking a Construction Engineer/Coordinator to oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of construction activities across active mine sites in California. Role OverviewAs Construction Engineer/Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing construction activities related to mine development, infrastructure, and facilities. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of construction plans.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee construction activities across mining project sites, ensuring alignment with engineering designs and operational goals.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and geotechnical data to guide field execution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality, safety compliance, and adherence to mining regulations.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Support procurement and logistics planning for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Assist in preparing reports, documentation, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations throughout construction phases.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in construction practices and mine development strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and field staff.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in construction engineering or coordination roles.
- Proven experience managing construction activities on active mine sites (e.g., haul roads, tailings facilities, processing plants).
- Strong understanding of mining construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is an asset.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and willing to travel frequently to remote project sites.
$60,000 -$80,000 annual base salary. The anticipated salary range may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal peer equity. This range reflects the expected base compensation at the time of posting and does not include potential bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation.
