Quantity Surveyor

BESIX is recruiting a quantity surveyor to Farciennes in Wallonia, and the posting is written around change orders rather than general measurement. The holder identifies change events arising from design modifications, client instructions, technical queries, delays, disruption and site conditions, then prices them with labour, materials, plant, subcontractor costs, preliminaries, overheads, risk and contractual mark-ups. Time is dealt with alongside cost.

The posting asks for coordination with the planning team on time impact, entitlement to extensions of time and programme consequences, and for change order packages submitted to the client within contractual deadlines carrying notices, cost breakdowns, time analyses and contractual justification.

Project records, correspondence, minutes, site reports, drawings, requests for information and non-conformance reports are analysed to support or defend a change position. Candidates need a degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering or economics and an understanding of variation management, claims, delay analysis and subcontract administration.
