The Concrete Paving Estimator is responsible for developing competitive estimates for concrete paving projects, including highways, municipal roads, intersections, paving rehabilitation, and related concrete construction work.
Key Responsibilities- Review paving plans, specifications, and bid requirements.
- Complete detailed quantity takeoffs for pavement, curb and gutter, barriers, sidewalks, and miscellaneous concrete items.
- Develop production-based cost estimates for paving crews and equipment.
- Coordinate pricing for concrete materials, trucking, and subcontractors.
- Analyze constructability, sequencing, and production risks.
- Assist with bid strategy, estimate reviews, and project turnover.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate production assumptions.
- Heavy highway concrete paving experience.
- Understanding of paving operations, slip-form paving, and concrete production.
- Familiarity with MoDOT & KDOT paving specifications.
- Experience estimating self-performed concrete work.
