Job Title: Freelance Choreographer

Location: St. Louis, Missouri (On-Site)

Engagement type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Weissman is seeking a Freelance Choreographer to collaborate with our creative team during photoshoots. This role is all about guiding dancers into positions that capture the right mood, technique, and artistry for each project. The Choreographer works side by side with photographers and stylists to ensure our brand and products are represented at their best. This is a freelance position, booked as needed, with availability required between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on scheduled shoot days.

The ideal candidate has a strong dance background, loves working with children and teens, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment. With a sharp eye for movement and detail, the Choreographer helps translate dance into images that inspire and connect with our audiences.

• Work with dancers during photoshoots to execute positions aligned with project goals
• Ensure movement reflects proper mood, technique, and genre requirements
• Partner with the photographer and stylist to produce on-brand, impactful photography
• Attend training session in advance of booked shoot dates
• Provide feedback to dancers to adjust positions, lines, and expressions as needed
• Support a positive and professional on-set environment for all participants

Education

• Degree in Dance, Choreography, or related field preferred

Experience

• Prior experience choreographing or coaching dancers in a professional or studio setting
• Experience working with children and teens ages 3–17

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong dance technique knowledge across multiple styles and genres
• Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to adjust for different age groups
• Positive, team-oriented, and collaborative attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail to ensure technical accuracy in movement and positioning
• Must live within driving distance of our Maplewood, St. Louis studio
