This role is onsite 5 days per week and is ideal for a seasoned reporter who thrives on breaking news, source-driven reporting, and high-impact coverage in one of the nation’s most competitive news markets.

• 5+ years of experience reporting in a fast-paced digital or print newsroom
• Proven experience covering crime, courts, politics, or public safety in a major metro area
• Excellent news judgment with a strong instinct for exclusive and high-impact stories
• Ability to report and write accurately under tight deadlines while managing multiple assignments
• Proficiency with Word Press or a similar CMS; strong understanding of SEO and social media best practices

• Cover breaking news and major developments related to crime, courts, and politics across Los Angeles
• Deliver exclusive, agenda-setting stories that drive engagement and audience growth
• Write fast, clean, and compelling copy aligned with a distinctive editorial voice
• Develop and maintain strong sources within law enforcement, courts, government agencies, and local communities
• Monitor court filings, public records, and social platforms for emerging stories and scoops
• File real-time updates across web, mobile, social, and video platforms while upholding the highest journalistic standards
