CALL FOR CURATORS 2026
In 2023, the San Benito County Arts Council established the Curating Committee to involve and uplift local artists and diversify and expand our Exhibitions Program. The committee is formed annually and is tasked to organize 2‑3 exhibitions per year at The Art Depot.
Job OverviewOur 2026 committee will consist of three emerging artists and/or arts professionals to serve as guest curators, designing and installing two to three art exhibitions at The Art Depot in downtown Hollister. Each committee member will receive a $400 stipend and a complimentary Artist Membership with the Arts Council. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a team of artists and creatives while learning about presenting and exhibiting art in a gallery setting.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend once a month in person or virtual exhibition design meetings.
- Assist in the concept design and planning for two to three distinct art exhibitions for spring and summer of 2026.
- Collaborate in the development of community engagement events for each exhibition.
- Assist in the outreach and promotion related to calls for artists and exhibition events.
- Assist in the installation of artwork and preparation of the gallery for public viewing.
- Help with programming for the 20th Anniversary Celebration for the San Benito County Arts Council.
- $400 stipend
