Page Six Reporter/Editor (Tues–Sat) role at New York Post. Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr. The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture, Fashion and Entertainment.

Page Six Digital delivers the latest in celebrity news and entertainment with a bold, fast-paced digital edge. We are looking for a bold, sharp, and pop culture-obsessed Reporter/Editor who lives and breathes celebrity news and can pitch, write, and edit buzzy stories with speed, accuracy, and an unmistakable voice. You will help shape coverage by editing and polishing stories to meet a high bar for tone, timeliness, and impact.

Note: The schedule for this role is Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11pm EST
.

Responsibilities
  • Assign and edit multiple stories per day from a team of writers and reporters
  • Write daily SEO-optimized news stories with speed, efficiency and clean copy
  • Think strategically about the daily entertainment news cycle and pitch stories to move topics forward
  • Be a self-starter and confident in making decisions and working independently, particularly at night
  • Use traffic analytics (Google Analytics, Parse.ly, etc.) to guide coverage and measure success
  • Think quickly in breaking news situations
  • Collaborate with social, video, photo, and other departments to enhance coverage
Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of major journalism experience
  • Exceptional editing, writing and reporting skills
  • Deep understanding of celebrities and trending entertainment topics
  • Strong news judgment and ability to craft enticing, SEO-optimized headlines
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and social trends
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced online news environment
  • Experience with content management systems and web analytics tools
  • Flexibility to cover holidays, live pop culture events, and work outside business hours when needed
Schedule

Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11pm EST
