- Willingness to work in the field: frequent field assignments and ability to serve as a Field Anchor when required.
- Anchor live newscasts consistently and deliver unscripted breaking news coverage with accuracy and composure.
- Report daily: develop and execute at least one original story per day for broadcast and digital distribution.
- Pitch story ideas and collaborate with producers to turn concepts into executable newscasts, teasers, and promotional items.
- Post and optimize stories on KMOV’s website and social platforms; collaborate with digital teams to maximize audience and engagement.
- Build and maintain strong community contacts and represent KMOV at community events and public forums.
- Steady pipeline of original, impactful stories produced and published daily.
- High‑quality live anchoring that complements strong reporting, especially during breaking news or field coverage.
- Measurable digital engagement across KMOV and Gray Media streaming platforms (website views, social interactions, streaming audience growth).
- Strong, visible ties to the St. Louis community and frequent, relevant community‑driven reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in a Reporter or Anchor role at a television station, with a demonstrated track record of daily reporting and newsroom leadership.
