DescriptionLakeside Renovation & Design is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential remodeling, proficiency in CAD software, and experience with plan production and submissions to municipalities. This role is crucial to ensuring seamless collaboration between our Architecture department and Pre-Construction team, with the goal of delivering high-quality designs and plans that meet client expectations.

Job SummaryThe Drafter will be responsible for creating accurate and comprehensive residential remodeling plans in collaboration with our Architecture team. This role requires close attention to detail, strong technical skills, and an ability to work under tight deadlines to ensure that all designs meet local building codes and standards. The Drafter will also assist with plan submissions to various municipalities and coordinate revisions based on feedback.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction plans using CAD software for residential remodeling projects
- Collaborate with the Architecture department to ensure all plans meet project specifications and client expectations
- Submit plans to municipalities for approval, ensuring compliance with local building codes
- Revise plans based on feedback from clients, the Architect, and municipal reviewers
- Maintain clear communication with the Pre-Construction and Architecture teams throughout the drafting process
- Ensure all designs are aligned with Lakeside’s high standards of quality and craftsmanship
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and local building regulations
- Assist with plan revisions as required to accommodate project changes
- Attend meetings with architects, engineers, and construction teams as necessary
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plan production for residential remodeling
- Experience submitting plans to municipalities and ensuring compliance with local codes
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Full-time, 40 hours per week
