OverviewGeisinger Medical Center – Janet Weis Children’s Hospital is seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Division Director of Pediatric Neurology. This exceptional opportunity leads a nationally recognized division committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research for 10 physician providers and 3 advanced practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Pediatric Neurology Division.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that promotes innovation, excellence, and professional development.
- Lead recruitment, retention, and mentorship of faculty and staff.
- Ensure delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Oversee subspecialty programs including epilepsy, headache, neuromuscular disorders, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and sleep.
- Expand access to care through outreach, telemedicine, and partnerships.
- Direct educational programs for medical students and residents in the Child Neurology Residency Program.
- Ensure compliance with ACGME and institutional standards.
- Promote faculty engagement in teaching and mentorship.
- Support and grow research initiatives.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and funding opportunities.
- Promote scholarly productivity and national visibility of the division.
- Manage division operations including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Represent the division in departmental and institutional leadership forums.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
- Board certification in Pediatric Neurology.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Academic credentials commensurate with an Associate or Full Professor appointment.
- Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of five years of clinical and/or leadership experience in an academic medical center.
- Demonstrated success in program development, faculty mentorship, and strategic planning.
- Strong record of scholarly achievement.
