Overview
The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics, seek a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (Clinician Educator). The candidate will work with a team of dedicated physicians, metabolic nutritionists, nurses, genetic counselors, and social workers nical and translational research opportunities are available.
The successful candidate will have clinical and teaching responsibilities, with independent research strongly encouraged. Several research/clinical/education tracks are available depending on qualifications and interests. In addition to outpatient activities, our in-patient service is closely involved with genetic and metabolic patients in the neonatal and pediatric ICU wards. We provide consultative support for babies, children, and adolescents with a wide variety of complex and rare disorders.
We have growing fetal-maternal, telemedicine, and cardiogenomic centers, and opportunities for expanding our neurogenetic multidisciplinary program. Development of other clinical multi-specialty programs is encouraged. Advancement in an academic career is supported by intramural funding and mentorship. Relocation expenses are provided, and the position includes a generous benefits and retirement package.
The candidate will have clinical, teaching, and potential research responsibilities within the Division of Medical Genetics. Independent research is strongly encouraged, and there are opportunities across several tracks depending on the applicant’s interests.
QualificationsThe applicant must have an MD/DO and be board certified in pediatrics or another primary care specialty. In addition, the successful candidate must be board certified or eligible in clinical genetics.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $95,904–$325,7. When extending an offer of employment, USC considers factors such as scope of the position, candidate experience, education/training, skills, equity, applicable laws, grant funding, and market considerations. Relocation expenses are provided, and the position includes a generous benefits and retirement package.
