Physician (Emergency Medicine) located at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana. The post is located on 198,000 acres and home to 22,000 military members and their families.

Position SummaryServe as the senior staff officer while on duty in the Emergency Department. Examine patients, order tests, triage, resuscitate, and stabilize patients from pediatric to geriatric. Perform authorized emergency procedures and provide guidance to physician assistants, nurse practitioners and students.
Responsibilities- Serve as the senior staff officer while on duty in the Emergency Department.
- Examine patients and order appropriate tests to evaluate patient’s chief complaints.
- Triage, resuscitate and stabilize both trauma and medical patients from the pediatric to the geriatric patient; from seriously ill to the severely traumatized.
- Perform authorized emergency procedures.
- Provide professional guidance and direction to physician assistants, Nurse Practitioners and physician assistant students working in the Emergency Department.
- Record all medical data on prescribed forms and complete necessary administrative functions.
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine (preferred).
- Extensive, current emergency medicine experience (working >20 hours per week for the past 12 months).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
- At least one year of supervised direct service experience (internship or first year of residency).
- Successfully completed an accredited residency training in Emergency Medicine (minimum 4 years of equivalent experience).
