The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UC Irvine is accepting applications for a 1‑year fellowship in Genitourinary pathology, starting July 2026

Salary range: $81,500 – $103,898. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step position includes membership in the health science compensation plan.

The fellowship provides training in all aspects of GU pathology with opportunities for clinical research. The GU service handles more than 6,000 cases annually and includes the full range of neoplastic and non‑neoplastic conditions with emphasis on prostate, kidney, and bladder. The fellow will participate in sign‑out of GU specimens, frozen sections, and consultation cases. The program also offers exposure to a tertiary service processing approximately 25,000 adult specimens per year, including experience in gastrointestinal, breast, bone/soft tissue, lung, head and neck, gynecologic, and genitourinary pathology.
Fellows will take a few weeks of call during the year, act as an attending, contribute to resident teaching, and present at the bimonthly GU tumor board. Funded research opportunities are available, and fellows are expected to present research at national meetings.
