EmploymentStatus
Any individual hired for an AMU position from September 15th onward will be classified as an at‑will, probationary employee. At the end of the school year, there may be an opportunity to transition to regular employee status.
Education / Credential Requirements- Have a bachelor’s degree (required).
- Possess or will have by July 2026 a valid California Preliminary or Clear Multiple Subject or Single Subject English credential, or a California Single Subject Intern credential.
- Eligible for a Short‑Term Staff Permit (STSP) or Provisional Internship Permit (PIP) with a valid CPR certification.
- For Multiple Subject credential holders, a minimum of 12 post‑secondary semester units in English courses is required; only middle‑school English positions will be open.

- Strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and capacity to plan and deliver instruction for diverse learners.

- Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer.

For credentialed teachers, salary ranges from $71,085 to $127,985 depending on education and experience. For aspiring teachers without credentials, the range is $62,316 to $63,866.
