• Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines, and as assigned based on the needs of the college.
• Conduct classes, prepare lessons, evaluate students, create course syllabus, assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, and perform other related duties.
• Maintain and submit accurate records according to published deadlines (grades, syllabi, attendance reports).
• Adhere to professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
• Advise students on academic matters.
• Maintain competency in the field.

• Master's in political science, government, or international relations.
• OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, ethnic studies, JD or LL.B.;
• OR equivalent (submit transcripts and work experience).
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
