Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) is a leading two‑year college in Missouri, serving a six‑county region and committed to academic excellence, workforce advancement, and lifelong learning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop, implement, and review academic programs and curricula.
  • Oversees course scheduling, resource utilization, and compliance with accreditation standards and policies.
  • Provides leadership for academic programs, including budget management, program activity coordination, and evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Partners with departments to determine pathways for students, coordinate course review, design new courses, and manage articulation agreements.
  • Facilitates recruitment and non‑credit offerings in partnership with college departments.
  • Engages in evaluation and recommendation of improvements of learning spaces, equipment assessment, and maintenance of quality instruction.
  • Develops skill growth activities and techniques to support student success.
  • Formulates and develops program plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring consistency with the mission of SCC.
  • Provides guidance and support to students on academic‑related issues, serving as a resource for resolving conflict and promoting student success.
  • Assists in the preparation of the college catalog, class schedules, website, and other public information for assigned programs.
  • Demonstrates commitment to leading and supporting academic programs through quality and excellence.
  • Maintains effective relationships and communication with students, faculty, and staff in a diverse environment.
  • Networks and expands educational partnerships with business and industry professionals.
  • Formulates and leads departmental and discipline meetings, including participation in Advisory Boards.
  • Maintains accurate student and other records required by higher education standards, state, federal regulations, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and mentors new instructional staff and provides continuous guidance to part‑time and contract instructors, including classroom evaluations.
  • Coordinates new hire and payroll documents and serves as first point of contact for division employees.
  • Possesses strong communication skills to interact effectively with individuals from a variety of multicultural backgrounds.
  • Serves as a college ambassador, values teamwork, accountability, and demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in supporting discipline studies or related field.
  • Five years’ experience in higher education.
Reporting Relationship

Generally reports to the Executive Director/Academic Dean; may vary upon organizational need.
