The LAUSD Reading Tutor will work in collaboration with our Los Angeles area schools. The tutor is responsible for instruction in small groups with a focus on closing the achievement gap and building a stronger academic foundation.

You will work with 52 Street Elementary School or Arroyo Seco Museum Science Magnet School.

• Experience working with students either as a teacher, tutor or as a resource personnel
• Understand the need for accurate PLI record keeping and documentation in a timely manner
• Providing small group instruction
• Setting and maintaining high expectations for students
• Collecting and analyzing data
• Building relationships with students in service of their academic growth
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
• Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to motivate students daily attendance
• Communicate with PLI management, school staff, and parents.
• Adhere to all Proximity Learning, Inc timelines and expectations
• Must live in the Los Angeles, CA area
• This is an on site position
• Must have own Transportation
• Be willing to work between 20 to 40 hours per week.
