HS SPED Teacher

Overview

Penney High School is seeking a dynamic full-time Special Education Teacher for the  school year. Coaching opportunities could be available. Hamilton, MO is about 40 miles east of St. Joseph. The school has an enrollment of approximately 180 students. This position includes working as a co-teacher in a Class within a Class (CWC) setting as well as Pull-out Special Education classes.

• Provide instruction aligned with secondary content standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs of students.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students as a Special Education Teacher.
• Collaborate within a block schedule that allows for 90 minutes of daily planning time.
• Potential coaching duties depending on district needs.

• Full Special Education Certification is preferred; consideration given to other certifications or alternative certification candidates.
• Strong instructional skills and ability to work with content standards at the secondary level.
• Experience with Class within a Class (CWC) and pull-out Special Education services is desirable.
