The Grades Teacher delivers a developmentally aligned Waldorf curriculum for an assigned class (Grades 1–8). Responsibilities include planning and teaching daily Main Lesson blocks, core academic subjects, and integrated artistic activities such as music, movement, storytelling, and visual arts. The teacher maintains a warm and orderly classroom environment, provides differentiated instruction, communicates regularly with parents, and participates in faculty meetings, professional development, festivals, and school community events.

- Plan and deliver daily Main Lesson blocks and additional classes aligned with the Waldorf curriculum for the assigned grade.
- Teach core academic content in an interdisciplinary, artistic, and developmentally aligned manner.
- Incorporate storytelling, movement, music, arts, and hands‑on learning in daily lessons.
- Maintain an orderly, nurturing classroom environment grounded in rhythm, respect, and clear expectations.
- Assess student progress through observation, formative assessments, written feedback, and end‑of‑year narrative reports.
- Support healthy social‑emotional development and model positive communication and conflict resolution.
- Provide differentiated instruction for student learning needs and partner with Student Support when appropriate.
- Collaborate with specialty teachers (Handwork, Movement, World Languages, Music, Farming, etc.) to ensure curricular cohesion.
- Participate in professional development and ongoing study of Waldorf pedagogy.
- Waldorf Teacher Training or completion of a Waldorf Teacher Certification Program strongly preferred.
- Prior Waldorf class teaching experience highly desirable.
- Experience working with elementary or middle‑school aged children in educational settings required.
