Overview

Human Services Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) Madera Community College

This posting has been created to establish an applicant pool for part-time faculty positions. Applications will be reviewed by members of the hiring department when vacancies arise. Continuous Recruitment; there is no fixed closing date. Start dates may vary.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in Human Services on the Madera Community College campus and/or at off-site community campus locations as assigned.
  • Teach a part-time schedule of Human Services courses, using a variety of pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
  • Apply effective teaching methods in line with the institutionally approved curriculum outlines of record.
  • Evaluate student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in alignment with course objectives.
  • Provide course syllabi to students and maintain classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
  • Submit all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
  • Adopt teaching assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including classes as needed.
  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential; or
  • The equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency).

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience and skill incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into responsibilities.
  • Experience with racially minoritized students and understanding of exclusion patterns in higher education.
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations and support student success; ability to collaborate with faculty and staff; proficiency with computers and instructional technologies; knowledge of assessment methods and community college mission.
Salary and Benefits
  • Newly hired part-time faculty will be placed on step one of the Part-Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
  • Salary placement based on education and experience as outlined in the Part-Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
  • Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.

    The hiring department conducts the selection and hiring process. Applicants may be contacted to interview.
  • Positions are in a continuous pool with no guaranteed start dates. If you are not interviewed/selected within 18 months, you will need to submit a new application.
