St. Charles Community College is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County (SCC). At SCC, we have a passion for student success. Position

Part‑time contract trainer, semester‑by‑semester as needed. The role is in the Workforce Readiness Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive welding instruction and develop/update curriculum materials to align with industry standards and SCC’s strategic vision and mission.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the welding program’s effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students to help them succeed in welding related careers.
  • Maintain supplies, keep records of accounts, and monitor welding lab equipment.
  • Establish procedures to ensure a safe learning environment and efficient operation reflecting industry standards.

Hours

Day and evening positions available.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of related experience as a welder, welding instructor/trainer in an industrial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of welding, cutting, fabrication, and manufacturing.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work well with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Welding Society certification.
