The College of Arts & Sciences at California Baptist University invites you to apply for a full-time, 9-month per year, tenure-track position in the area of Public Administration in the Department of History & Government. The appointment includes teaching a mix of online courses within Public Administration, as well as in-person courses within an area in History & Government, including Criminal Justice, History, or Political Science.
Other duties include participation in departmental program assessment, serving on dissertation committees, student advising, and university and community service. The successful candidate will have the ability to conduct a research program that may involve undergraduate or graduate students. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.
Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $78,000 – $85,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
QualificationsThe successful candidate should possess a Doctor of Public Administration, or a PhD in a related field. Preference will be given to those with a history of quality teaching, practitioner experience, and notable research. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.

Teaching responsibilities may include both undergraduate and graduate-level courses in public administration and in-person courses within in History & Government which may include Criminal Justice, History, or Political Science. Faculty will also contribute to the success of the department by participating in service including course-level and program-level assessment, dissertation committees, student advising, and supporting department and University events.
