Position OverviewPart‑time educator for Encinitas School District. Pay range: $20–$22 per hour (dependent on education and experience). On‑site schedule:
Mon‑Thu 2:00‑6:00 p.m.;
Fri 12:30‑6:00 p.m. (Dependent on location). Candidates must be open to working at any partner school in Encinitas.
- Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
- Deliver a dynamic daily curriculum that engages children in academic and social character‑building, extending school‑day learning.
- Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain safety and well‑being, supporting homework, leading fitness activities, and guiding play.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
- Meet regularly with the Program Manager to discuss professional progress and team accountability.
- Outstanding customer service and relationship‑building skills.
- Works well in a team environment.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age (preferred).
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete two years of higher education study (48 units), or hold an AA degree or higher, or pass a formal District academic assessment test.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Meet state‑specific requirements: LIVE Scan fingerprint, FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter training, Health Certificate with negative TB test.
