Your Opportunity:
The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one’s field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.

• Instructional duties may include: teaching assignments; course and program preparation and revision; practicum placement and supervision; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work; other functions related to instruction. Will be required to teach theory and lab classes, as well as supervise students in a variety of clinical settings.
• Professional duties may include: curriculum development; student registration and pre-registration duties.
• Professional development is activity intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.
• Service may include: school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings; representing OC at other functions; administrative and other duties.

• Candidates must be committed to a team approach, demonstrate good written and oral English skills and have good interpersonal skills.
• The ideal candidate will have an exceptional teaching record with demonstrated learner-centred teaching philosophy.
• Successful applicants will be an integral part of the team that will help Okanagan College realize the promise of a world-class college.
• Candidates will be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline.
• The successful applicant will be able to encourage communication between students and faculty.
