Elementary School Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a Lead Elementary School Teacher at an independent school in the San Mateo area.

• Knowledge of and experience in hands‑on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development and literacy skills; be highly motivated, hard‑working, collaborative, enthusiastic about working with young children, energetic and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; and show initiative.
• Have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary‑aged students. In addition to having the required professional and educational background, we seek an enthusiastic, energetic candidate.
• Build a joyful and nurturing classroom community that sparks intellectual curiosity and growth for all students, and demonstrates clear and affirming classroom management.
• Collaborate with one’s grade level team to plan and teach an integrated, mission‑aligned, early elementary program, including literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and social‑emotional learning.
• Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips.

• Bachelor’s in Elementary Education or related degree required.
• Master’s degree (preferred).
• 2 years of teaching experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; credibility and ethical conduct.
• Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to write and format professional correspondence, memos, and support documentation.
• Mature judgment and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality and composure under pressure working with sensitive or confidential information.
• Consistent and prompt attendance; conscientious about timeliness of assignments and the quality of work product.
• U.S. Work Authorization required.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
