Wages:
Starting wage will depend on experience and education. $33.00 – $56.00.

Position: Field Power Generator Technician

Location: Whittier, CA

Pay Rate: $33.00 – $56.00

• Experience with CAT diesel and gas generators (5kW to 2MW)
• Knowledge of control panels and electrical distribution systems
• Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
• Use diagnostic tools such as CAT ET, SIS, and other computer-based diagnostic software for troubleshooting
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical support
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards
• Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
• Troubleshoot emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls
• Troubleshoot gas and diesel industrial engines
• Read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Work safely at all times
• Minimum of 5 years of heavy machinery experience
• Must successfully complete a background check

One-year certificate or Associates degree from a community college or technical school;
Minimum five years of CAT dealer experience and five years of power equipment industry experience or equivalent education and experience.
