Location: California
Technician, Field Service - Regional (Dublin, CA)
Sysmex America, Inc. is seeking a Regional Field Service Technician to support and eventually transition into a Service Engineer role. The position requires extensive travel across the U.S., training, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities- Complete all training to qualify as a Field Service Technician.
- Travel within service districts to mentor or assist during training.
- Provide field service support once training is complete.
- Travel up to 50% of time within the United States during training.
- Accept an SE or related position after successful completion.
- Install, maintain, and repair Sysmex instruments and systems, including troubleshooting, servicing, performing site surveys, and adhering to TSB/ECR processes.
- Document all service‑related activities accurately (inventories, orders, expense reports).
- Meet service standards, including on‑time, labor hour goals, demand service events, installations and first‑visit repair rates.
- Support technical issues at customer sites and collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve issues.
- Maintain expenses, parts inventory, and company property.
- Communicate effectively, promote teamwork, and maintain professional customer relations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Up to 50% travel within the United States during training.
- Regular exposure to risk; moderate physical activity required, handling 21–50 lb objects, and continuous walking/inspections.
- Experience with safe handling of medical equipment.
- Associate’s degree and 0–3 years experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Clinical Laboratory Science, or similar. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Completion of Sysmex‑certified instrument training.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Willingness to relocate to any service district in the United States.
- General computer knowledge in Windows; basic LIS knowledge desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English; second language (Spanish, French, Portuguese) desirable.
- Excellent listening, presentation, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high energy level.
- Proof of required vaccinations (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, COVID‑19).
Hourly pay: $20.19 – $31.73 plus overtime. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance, annual incentive bonus, paid time off, parental and bereavement leave, and 401(k).
