We are seeking a transportation engineer experienced in traffic operations and safety who has a people‑first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong desire to positively impact our organization and the communities we serve.

In this role, you will deepen your technical expertise in traffic operations and safety projects for freeway corridors, interchanges, intersections, local roadways, and city‑wide networks. You will reinforce these skills by training and mentoring others, while taking on new challenges such as task leadership, project management fundamentals, and business development.

• Help clients understand existing and future facility conditions by analyzing field‑collected data using spreadsheet and software models (Excel, Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, FREEVAL, VISSIM).
• Develop future traffic projections following agency‑specific methodologies and procedures.
• Create and screen improvement alternatives, perform traffic operations analysis and macro/micro simulation analysis, and refine conceptual designs.
• Document methods and findings in technical reports that are accessible to a wide audience.

• Technical proficiency in traffic operations and safety related to the focus areas mentioned above.
• Consultant mindset—anticipating needs, accurately reading audiences, creative problem‑solving, and resourcefulness.
• Highly effective time prioritization.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, teaming partners, and industry professionals.
• Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.

• 3–8 years of experience in the technical focus areas referenced above.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where you will primarily deliver work, or EIT with the expectation to obtain a PE within one year.
• Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.

The range for this position is $90,000–115,000, which is a combination of base salary plus an employer‑funded 401(k) retirement contribution. Position within this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
