Electrical Engineering, Product Manager
The Product Manager will lead the strategic direction, development, and launch of innovative instrument transformer products that meet evolving customer and market needs in the electric power industry. This role involves identifying opportunities, defining product requirements, and managing products through the entire lifecycle—from concept to commercialization and sales growth—by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for new offerings in the instrument transformer space.
- Refresh product vision, strategy, and roadmap for established offerings.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop prototypes and production-ready designs.
- Lead cross-functional teams through stage-gate product development processes.
- Conduct voice-of-customer (VoC) research and translate insights into actionable product requirements.
- Ensure products meet industry standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI, IEC) and customer specifications.
- Develop business cases, ROI analyses, and go-to-market strategies.
- Support marketing and sales efforts with product pricing, positioning, training, and launch materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Product Development, or related field (MBA or advanced technical degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in product management or new product development in the electric power or utility industry.
- Proven track record of managing and launching successful technical products.
- Strong understanding of generation, transmission, and distribution equipment and utility applications.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Travel: 10% to 20%.
- Experience with utility procurement and specification processes.
- Knowledge of power quality technologies, smart grid technologies, and digital substations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
