We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team and lead the development of secure, high-performance embedded software for aerospace and defense systems. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded design, network protocols, and secure communication, and thrives in an environment where precision and reliability are paramount.
This role is onsite (≥ 4 days per week) and requires U.S. citizenship due to the nature of our defense‑related projects.
What you'll do- Architect, design, and implement embedded firmware for STM
32 microcontrollers and aerospace‑certified platforms - Develop, optimize, and maintain RTOS‑based applications (FreeRTOS, Thread
X) - Integrate WiFi modules and Ethernet interfaces, including driver development (ubxlib, NXP SDK, STM
32 MAC/PHY) - Implement and debug network protocols including lwIP TCP/IP, MQTT (v5 preferred), and TFTP/FTP
- Ensure robust and secure data communication using TLS, WPA3, PKI, and certificate‑based methods
- Support secure boot processes, firmware over‑the‑air (OTA) updates, and Trust Zone‑based security features
- Apply best practices in debugging using JTAG, logic analyzers, Wireshark, and MQTT Explorer
- Contribute to compliance with aerospace standards, including ARINC 853 (CSMIM) and ARINC 615A
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in hardware, systems, and product engineering to deliver high‑quality solutions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Proven experience in embedded system design and firmware development (C/C++)
- Strong background with STM
32 microcontrollers and RTOS (FreeRTOS, Thread
X) - Hands‑on experience with lwIP TCP/IP stack, MQTT, and TFTP/FTP protocols
- Familiarity with WiFi modules, Ethernet interfaces, and driver integration
- Strong knowledge of secure communication standards (TLS, WPA3, PKI, Trust Zone, Secure Boot, OTA updates)
- Proficiency in debugging and network analysis tools
- U.S. citizenship/Green Card required; ability to work on defense‑related projects
- Experience with aerospace‑certified microcontrollers and compliance standards
- Knowledge of ARINC 853 (CSMIM) and ARINC 615A
