Schedule: Must be flexible for all 3 shifts + frequent weekend work
About the RoleWe are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the Paint Department at a major automotive assembly plant. In this hands‑on engineering role, you will drive improvements in paint processes, robotics performance, safety, quality, and overall productivity. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a fast‑paced production environment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Maintain and improve paint pretreatment, chemistry, and application processes
. - Support and troubleshoot Fanuc robotic systems (approx.
100 robots
). - Ensure compliance with plant safety, quality, and environmental standards
. - Lead and support a team of 5–10 employees
, providing technical guidance as needed. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Evaluate and propose process changes, equipment updates, and cost improvements.
- Support SPQRC goals (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost).
- Help maintain compliance with ISO
14001 and GM Global Manufacturing System processes.
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar).
- 1+ year of automotive manufacturing experience
. - Experience working with Fanuc robotics and automation systems.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Background in paint operations or chemical pretreatment processes.
- Knowledge of tooling or automotive assembly processes.
- Experience leading small teams.
