The Production Engineering Department is made up of two groups:
Process Engineering (supporting assembly lines/areas) and Project Engineering. A Project Engineer designs and modifies materials, assemblies, and final products in all non-refrigeration related areas to meet customer and internal needs. Project Engineers also complete a variety of engineering project work that also includes new machine acquisitions that improve the efficiency of our production areas.
- Help design, test, and manufacture premium consumer cooking products.
- Assist with quality improvements, refreshes, facelifts, and new product development.
- Interface cross-functionally to ensure product design is consumer focused and designed for manufacturing.
- Ability to execute test plans to create products compliant with regulatory requirements for consumer cooking.
- Develop production processes and above-and-beyond testing specifically for premium consumer cooking products.
- Be part of a cross functional team that works to best utilize internal resources.
- Assist with developing and delivering production design projects and capital improvement projects from start-up through implementation.
- Apply Lean principles to new processes and production areas.
- Deliver quality engineering solutions to internal and external customers.
- Work with suppliers to develop solutions, quotes, and return on investment for various projects.
- Ability to study processes, conduct time studies and use information to develop improvements.
- Create and update production area layouts using ACAD/Draft Sight and Solid Works for design work.
- Design, develop, and implement new assembly lines and areas.
- Work with all facets of production and various degrees of skill sets to achieve a common goal.
- Develop process work instructions for new equipment and/or new procedures.
- Liaison between customers and workers from different specialty disciplines
- Develop ideas to improve safety, quality, productivity, and production flexibility.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data on manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve production processes.
- Develop ergonomic improvements for manufacturing processes as needed.
- Occasional Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or similar field required.
- Five or more years of related experience required.
- Consumer appliance experience preferred.
- Experience developing gas oven cavities and gas surface burners.
- Experience with electric appliances on hot side.
- Experience with induction and electric surface elements for indoor and outdoor cooking.
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Lean experience preferred.
- Ability to lead people, obtain commitment from team members, and achieve results through others.
- Positive attitude, team player, open minded, innovative engineer that will support the direction and policies of the Company.
- Ability to think ahead, set daily and weekly goals, and create action plans to achieve results.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task while keeping projects on time.
