Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Supervisor – Industrial Waste Management to oversee the comprehensive management of hazardous waste, wastewater treatment, and solid waste operations at our advanced manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring environmental compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with our sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemical Engineering, with hands–on experience in industrial waste systems and environmental management.

You Will
  • Supervise daily operations of wastewater treatment systems including pre-treatment, filtration, neutralization, and chemical dosing
  • Optimize treatment protocols to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact
  • Ensure compliance with local and international discharge regulations
  • Maintain system performance logs and prepare compliance reports
  • Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials including paint sludge, solvents, and heavy metals
  • Implement solid waste segregation, recycling, and disposal programs
  • Conduct internal audits to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for waste collection and treatment
  • Support sustainability initiatives such as water conservation, waste reduction, and circular economy practices
  • Monitor environmental KPIs (waste, water, emissions) and report progress
  • Stay updated on environmental legislation and best practices
  • Promote employee awareness and training on environmental procedures
  • Supervise and train technicians and junior staff in waste management operations
  • Collaborate with EHS, Utilities, Paint Shop, and Engineering teams to align waste operations with production needs
  • Lead emergency response efforts related to environmental incidents
You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial waste and wastewater management
  • Experience in hazardous waste handling and treatment in a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of chemical, physical, and biological waste treatment methods
  • Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and environmental monitoring tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities
  • Project management and leadership capabilities
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., MEWA, EPA, ISO 14001)
  • Valid Wastewater Treatment Operator license (preferred)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during emergencies or critical operations
