Employee-owned HDR is seeking qualified individuals to provide project, geographic, and technical leadership in our growing coastal engineering and restoration program. Our portfolio of award‑winning coastal projects demonstrates our interdisciplinary expertise across architecture, federal, transportation, and water resources. HDR is ranked #5 in ENR's 2025 Top Water Design Firm rankings.

We are seeking qualified coastal engineers capable of performing the analysis and design of coastal restoration projects (marsh restoration, beach nourishment), shoreline protection projects (revetments, breakwaters), and navigation projects (dredging, marinas, harbors). A major plus is expertise in creating plans and specifications and in project management. Familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems is preferred.
