Position OverviewThis role reports to the Director, Operations Engineering and will be responsible for developing and progressing the Ready for Operations (RFO) activities, ensuring a seamless transition of the facility from EPC to the operations phase.
Responsibilities- Provide advice and guidance on rotating equipment system engineering issues.
- Provide daily rotating equipment and mechanical systems support to the Maintenance & Operations teams to ensure continued operability of plant equipment.
- Provide advanced diagnostic support to allow rapid production recovery in the event of equipment failure and forced plant outage.
- Lead root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) exercises and produce summaries with causes, recommendations, and presentations to concerned parties.
- Interpret and evaluate analysis and recommendations from reliability technicians on predictive programs.
- Support the Maintenance team for turnaround planning and execution.
- Maintain availability tracking and improve overall reliability for plant equipment, evaluating workflow, identifying critical spares, and managing spare parts storage and preservation for rotating equipment systems.
- Lead initiatives to refine and improve existing maintenance practices through reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) for cost‑effective safety and robustness.
- Education and Certifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline. Mechanical engineering focus preferred.
- Professional engineering license preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum fifteen (15) years in an engineering capacity dealing with rotating and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
- Oil and gas experience required, with preference for LNG applications; petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing or other hydrocarbon processing acceptable.
- Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (frames & aero‑derivatives) and compressors (including compressor performance) required.
- Additional Skills
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Proficiency with RCFA tools for failure analysis.
