The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in wastewater treatment that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer that has 5+ years of experience in wastewater engineering (ideally) to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Playa Del Rey area.
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in developing, designing, and evaluating both conventional and computer-based control systems for the regulation, operation, and monitoring of facilities such as wastewater treatment plants.
- Prepare detailed design specifications, material lists, and requisitions to support project execution.
- Select, size, and complete ISA data sheets for field instruments to ensure accuracy and proper function.
- Evaluate manufacturers’ and contractors’ submittals for compliance with design specifications and negotiate modifications to meet project objectives.
- Review and inspect the fabrication, installation, and testing of control facilities, ensuring quality and adherence to plans.
- Monitor facility startup and debugging processes, making adjustments to achieve safe and reliable operation.
- Investigate existing control system operations, identify causes of failures, and recommend engineering changes to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations to support decision-making and project documentation.
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related
- Licensed California Professional Engineer (PE)
- At minimum, 5 years of wastewater experience preferred
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
